you really got me going
October 03, 2002, 02:29 pmAll this work on my diary app has really got me excited about stuff. I think I'm actually going to get off my ass and do some real work on it (and perhaps finally get around to finishing/polishing the administration section).
I was looking through old entries and all the ones from diaryland really suck. My markup was bad then (plus diaryland mangled it all the freakin' time). I feel pretty good about my markup now; I think I use anchor titles, abbreviation tags, et al. pretty well. I've been going back through old entries and fixing bad markup and making improvements.
I have a bunch of things I ought to be doing:
- finish diary application:
- write the "you've missed n entries" feature
- finish/test multi-user support
- setup multiple demonstrations
- user-selectable themes/stylesheets
- improve admin section
- PHPdoc all my stuff
- maybe make the source publicly available
- finish resume XML application
- finish writin résumé as XML document
- define XSLT documents for various file formats and documents (reference sheet, technical skills sheet)
- print résumés, reference sheets, technical skills sheets
- miscellaneous CIS portfolio
- polish code for my python-based LMC interpreter
- print out code in nice formats
- perhaps write some PHP/XML application that renders XHTML for my whole portfolio
- the audio video club site
- publish changes to livesite
- write the mailinglist code
- send out mails
- finish writing the fucking admin area!!
- change the authentication from Apache's Basic auth to PEAR's Auth class
- add users for mike and kevin
- update news database and classes to record/show who posted what
- change the shows database, normalizing the bands that we play with
- implement searching? maybe... but who would use it?
As you can see, I've got way too much shit to do....
