you know what time it is? partytime. that's right.

I guess I just have nerdly tendencies, 'cause lately, I'm just nerdly as all get out.

I thought it would be, ya know, funny if I set up this disco ball and spotlight that have been laying around the office for ages (yet, no one had put them to good use). But I'm too lazy to plug in the discoball's rotating motor thing and then go plug in the spotlight, so I brought some X10 modules that I had at home, plus the remote and serial port adapter.

Sandman and I spent the last hour on Friday wiring the discoball to the lighting system and mounting the spotlight.

But it just didn't have enough geekiness yet... so I pushed the envelope. I took that extra step towards excellence in the field of geek-dom. I wrote a cronjob on my computer to turn the discoball and spotlight on at the start of every hour and turn it off two minutes later.

I can't help but laugh thinking about it. In the most inappropriate situations, my computer will check the time, note that it is the 0th minute of the hour and commence partytime. There may be a client in the room. Or some serious stuff might be going on. Nevertheless, my computer will not know. Heh...

I can't wait to look at the web cam in the middle of the night, with no one in sight, yet it's partytime at ITD. Ha!
