Wouldn't It Be Nice.
April 21, 2006, 05:19 pmI figured out the bass line and most of the keyboard parts to God Only Knows last night. Whoa! It been my favorite Beach Boys song for a long time and now I have so much more respect for it. It's so unusual!
I've been listening to Pet Sounds at work the last few days, and while listening to Wouldn't It Be Nice I was thinking about when I was younger and I'd imagine what my life would be like.
Honestly, my life is way better than I imagined. I like my job well enough and I don't really have to worry too much about money. I'm totally in love with Nickie and I love our apartment. I can't imagine not living with her!
When I was younger, I thought I'd have a much fancier TV and computer. Honestly, sometimes I hate computers and I really don't give a shit about having the fastest.
I also thought I'd be way more into videogames. Instead I usually wait until a game has been out for a year or so and is really cheap. I also only play a handful of games a year.
Also, when I was an upperclassman in highschool, I didn't think I'd still be so into music. I guess I was a little burned out from practicing 4-6 hours every day for years. But it seems that now I'm into music more than I have ever been.
Sure there are things that I'd like to have (house, dog, more musical instruments particularly a piano, &c.), but I'm incredibly content with where I am.
I don't know how I got so fortunate, but I'm grateful.
