Zillion Will Be Reborn.

I finally got off my ass and bought some new computer hardware. My Asus A7V-whatever motherboard was kindof flaking out (or something was flaking out). I didn't really feel like troubleshooting it. Replacing my old motherboard, AMD Thunderbird 800MHz, 256 MB of RAM, and my IBM Deskstar 30 GB drive is:

I'm really excited about it. It's not the fastest or fanciest hardware, but it's new and it's more than good enough for me.

Back in the day, I would have scoffed at the thought of buying a motherboard with integrated audio and LAN, but these days, audio and video cards are a commodity. I couldn't care less if the onboard AC '97 audio isn't Creative Sound Blaster ® compatible. I mean, so long as xmms will play mp3s fine, I don't care. And just so long as the onboard LAN is supported and works under Linux, I don't care.

The 120 GB harddrive is a bit overkill for me, but it was the best price/performance ratio for criteria I had selected : a western digital drive, 7200 RPM, 8 MB buffer). I have no idea what I'll do with all that space.
