those crazy leitchpatch kids

Our show on Friday was pretty rediculous, but I'll start at the beginning.

First, realize that this is in Leitchpatch and that the kids that came to the show were all pretty crazy. Second, this venue is really just this kid's parents' garage/shed, which was somewhat cold and pretty dirty. And the stage was really scary and there was stuff laying around everywhere, which made it really difficult for us to set up because we have so much stuff.

So we finally get all our stuff setup (it seriously took us like half an hour or something) and Mike's amp is cutting in and out and sounds weird. So we figure out a workaround, but it's awkward and not what Mike's used to.

We get around to playing and I jump off the stage and manage to knock over my mic, Mike's mic, a mic on the other side of the room (okay, not really) and trip on a million other cables. There were just cables everywhere! We had all our cables (and we were cramped up), plus there were tons of cables that didn't even go to anything... they were just sitting there for me to trip on.

So we played our set and we did okay, considering all the irritating things that happened. The kids in the crowd didn't ask for encores, but at the same time they didn't throw shit at us, so it was okay.

And then we're packing up our stuff and this kid comes up to us and starts talking about how he loves Weezer and how he thought we were really good and all this crazy stuff. It was really weird, but flattering that at least someone there that didn't know us thought we were good.
