The Show / Inspiration.
May 17, 2004, 10:38 amOur show on Friday was pretty awesome. It was in this kid's basement and there were all sorts of kids just running around with excitement. I saw the younger brother of this girl that I was close friends with in highschool. And a kid that marches snare at my alma mater recognized me and when I told him that I'm in the Merediths, he said, “No shit? You guys are supposed to be awesome!”
We played last which isn't my preference, because there were maybe six bands playing and we wouldn't start until 11:30 or so. I wanted to play while all the kids were there and still had energy. But enough stuck around. We played our set and while some things were a bit sloppy, we rocked the fuck out of it! Haha. Our performance had tons of energy. I felt really good about it. And the kids loved it.
Afterwards, we sold all of our demos and had to turn kids away. I told them to check out the website, so hopefully they'll do that.
After the show, I was going to stay the night at my parents' house, but I was hungry, so I stopped by Kroger to get some cereal. While I was walking to the checkout lane, I ran into some kids that were at our show and had bought our demo. They were really excited and said they'd listened to the demo and thought it was amazing! They were in a band and were playin a show the next day and said that our live performance inspired them! Haha! That's incredible!
So the show was a lot of fun and a huge confidence builder.
