never again my dear / should we come dancing here / we'll play guitar and videogames

Our show last night was pretty awesome. JB, cshaw & dshaw, Barry, and Kent showed up, which was nice. Also, Davis & Taylor G. showed up, but I guess they didn't watch us play; I hadn't seen Davis in a really long time. It was a little sad to see him and have so little to say to each other...

Our set went pretty well; Jesse broke a string during Eyelashes..., so it didn't sound as good as it normally does, but that's no biggie. I'm not sure if we sold any buttons or demos or anything. I sold one to this guy Zac; he used to march snare for EHS. I think the last time I'd seen him, he was maybe a sophomore (when I was working band camp as a percussion instructor) and now he's in college. Crazy.

I was just reading the trivia for A Clockwork Orange on IMDB and couldn't help but laugh when I read:

Anthony Burgess originally sold the movie to Mick Jagger for three hundred dollars when he needed quick cash. Jagger intended to make it with the Rolling Stones as the droogs.

inflight correction said,

Web design is currently characterized by developers who know their language about as well as a marketer knows English, when they should know it as well as a novelist.

and I can't agree more.

I was reading the Interface Hall of Shame and busted out laughing when I saw the Social Security Number dropdown list. I showed JB and he said, Well, you could just tab over the links and then press the numbers.... assuming that the tab order is correct. Hahaha...

Inspired by css/edge's Slantasic, I created a new diary layout. It needs some work (making the other pages look better), but I'm pleased with it so far.

I've been going through Amazon today, marking every recommendation that I own (I swear they've recommended Neuromancer no fewer than eighty times!); aside from the odd and sometimes annoying recommendations, I like amazon a lot. I asked JB if anyone didn't like amazon and he said, Barnes & Noble? Hahaha... Take that Barnes & Noble! (I'm still pissed about the poor typography of the Arthur C. Clark book I bought)

Marking through all those William Gibson books is a little disturbing; I read so many of them, but I only really liked Neuromancer. I guess I just kept thinking that they couldn't all be that bad... I guess I was wrong.
