My Love, Give Me An Occilloscope.
August 11, 2004, 03:29 pmWe had our show last night. Originally, it was supposed to be us, Fairmont, and the Finals. They were going to play 30-minute sets and since they were sharing equipment, there'd be little setup time in between. So we thought if we started at 10, we'd play a little after 11 and everyone would be out before midnight. But two bands had their show fall through and they got added. I think we started playing a little after midnight and I didn't get home until 2. Ugh.
We played okay. The sound wasn't that great and we had horrible feedback problems in the first few songs. Our levels battled each other all the time. Oh well. It's good experience.
I'm looking forward to recording or practicing tonight and tomorrow.
I ordered some stuff from musiciansfriend and it came today:
- Lee Oskar Diatonic Harmonica (in the key of A, so I can play distorted blues harmonica in Ventriloquist)
- LP Super Güiro
- LP Afuché
- LP Rosewood Clavés
- Ludwig Castanets
I'm really disappointed in the clavés. They're really light and don't cut the way I expected them to. I think I found the clavés that we had in highschool and they were only $7. Damnit. Oh well. It's good to have a variety of instruments.
