me and my dad: fake rednecks

So Thursday night was our first Louisville show. While it could easily have been better, it wasn't that bad. We made some mistakes (and by we I mean, I) but it's a nice learning experience and at least it wasn't in front of lots of important people.

But the sucky things included: not having powerstrips, me having to switch places with jesse on stage because the mic cable was too short, playing our first song WAY too fast, me not going into the chorus of the new song, our under-twenty one friends getting kicked out, etc.

And the non-sucky things included: getting paid $50, the positive encouragement from the other bands as well as their interest in future shows, getting to jump around.

It makes me look forward to the March 10th show all the more.

I also saw my parents' new "lake-front Grayson County property", which is really just a little cabin-let out in Litchpatch. This place could be really incredibly cool. We walked down along the lakebed. My dad and I threw heavy rocks into the mud and laughed at the flatulent sounds that were produced. All in all: good times!

And Miss McNamara and I hung out a lot. There's something wonderful to be said about a girl that asks, "can't we just stay home and watch a movie and be comfortable and lay on the couch, instead of going to a movie theatre where we can't get comfortable?" What a sweetheart!

And now things are winding down quite nicely. Fritz is sleeping in my lap. Soon, I'm going to squeeze him until he meows. Then perhaps I'll play some more "Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past". Ah. I can't wait until I'm out of school....
