“... smells like ham.”

While reading random blogs today, I found this listing of quotes said at a public health clinic that treats people for STDs. My favorite: “My pee smells like ham.”

It has been only recently that I've fully realized how much I dislike the word “lavalier.”

I'm working for my Dad on Tuesday night, refreshing a web page over-and-over and reporting the updated election results in the station's Election Reporting System thing. I hope I won't have to stay late. I'm tired just thinking about it.

Usually, my '79 Gibson SG stays in its case (actually, it's an Epiphone hardshell case) because I'm afraid that Fritz would knock it off its stand. But lately, I've been playing more regularly and have been too lazy to put it away. Before I go to bed, sometimes I like to just look at it. I love its plain-wood finish. I love that she'll be turning twenty-three within the month. I fucking love that guitar.

I need to be practicing (which for me means playing through the first two BTGOG CDs and the Automatic CD). We have a show this Thursday with Ultimate Fake Book & the Derby City Project. I'm super-excited. It's at Aslan's How, which I think is an awesome venue. I hope a lot of people come. It would be nice if our stickers would arrive in time...

I finally got around to listening to the Sparklehorse Good Morning Spider CD that Jason Z. burned for me. I really like it. There are a number of songs on it that I think are incredible. I like listening to Saint Mary in my car at night, thinking that at any moment the song's slow tempo and sparse arrangement could cause it to simply fall apart...
