Jesus, send some good women to save all your clowns.
June 26, 2001, 01:12 pmI've had this whole make-my-life-better plan for quite some time and it goes something like this:
- get on a routine sleeping schedule
- start eating better (aka. more nutritious)
- start exercising of some sort (or even simpler than that, just stretching every day)
Unfortunately, I've been totally unable to do any of this! I just can't get on a normal sleeping schedule. I can't get myself up early in the morning and I can't sleep until really late at night. And videogames are definitely not to blame here! If I didn't play videogames all the time, I'd be playing guitar all the time, writing dumb programs all the time, or reading all the time! Maybe one of these days I'll get my shit together...
Thank you MAME! The other day jerkface and I were talking about how it seems that every Capcom fighting game has at least one level where the background has some idiot dancing “like a monkey on barbed wire”, as our friend Bruce Springsteen might say. To further prove our point, we had to do some “research” which meant having fun with xmame. We wanted to see if other fighter games suffered this same problem, so we played some Art of Fighting 3 and Samurai Shodown [sic] IV: Amakusa's Revenge.
Also, jerkface got some really great Neogeo roms. There's this shooter that has extremely impressive graphics for a Neogeo game and the in-game text translation is hilarious. It makes me want to put these screenshots somewhere where they can be appreciated and enjoyed. Maybe that's another project that I can think up, but never spend any time working on!
Last night I searched the shelves at Kroger for a can of Cheese ravioli with tomato sauce. There was absolutely no non-meaty ravioli to be found! WTF?!? I think Chef Boyardee is conspiring against me!
Damnit, now I have Bruce Springsteen's Wild Billy's Circus Story in my head.
One final note: man am I sick of diaryland's <P> crap! I'm sick of having to edit my freakin' entries six times to get it to look the way it should've looked the first time! But I guess this irritation is more reason for me to write my own application, so I guess that's good.
