I think I'm going to add a new feature to my diary application: when someone comes to the site, it sets a cookie with the current timestamp in it. Then when they come to it again, the page will see how many (if any) posts have been made since you last visited. So if I put five entries up in one day, you'll know that there are five to read (if you're interested, that is). Also it could easily show you that there's nothing new... I think I'll do it just for fun.
