Inventive.

It might seem that the Merediths always travel together. We all went to the Lords / Verktum / Wrangler Brutes / Breather Resist show last night. I was glad I brought my earplugs cause they were so loud!

I was blown away by Stan Doll's drumming. I've only seen him play twice (the last time was around 2 years ago when he and Brian and Cote played a Green Day cover set with the Audio/Video Club), but he is amazing. I liked Lords set a lot. Their songs are really concise and really varied, which I think is important.

But what really impressed me was that Lords and Breather Resist made really unique use of their equipment. Both bands have only one guitarist, but with a number of various amps and cabinets that they can turn on and off. Lords sounded a lot bigger than a three piece! And Evan used a looping pedal to fill out their sound with more parts.

It's made me start thinking about MIDI-controlled rack effects all day.
