Incredibly Rough! Ridiculously Unfinished!
August 04, 2004, 04:02 pmThe show was good and thankfully there were actually people there. We got really positive responses from people. I think the only thing I would've changed would be to make Mark's guitar cut a lot more. I think we're going to have him use Brian's Orange with my Morley A/B switch so that he can switch between the two channels and have one channel cut for the solos and slide parts. Definitely!
I just sent John Vanderslice an email. Why am I so silly and giddy?
I'm so excited about music and books right now. I just wish that I didn't have to be destracted by “real” work. Whatever.
Am I a fool for thinking that I can cover Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings on singing saw? Yes, but an ambitious fool! I actually bought sheet music for violin solo with piano accompaniment. Of course, this is all provided that the tessitura (one of my new favorite words) of the saw is complimentary.
And now the words of the day:
- tessitura
- the prevailing range of a vocal or instrument part, within which most of the tones lie
- edentulous
- having no teeth; toothless
- busker
- to play music/perform entertainment in a public place, soliciting money
- passaggio
- the point when your voice “breaks” or switches from your “chest voice” to your “head voice” or “falsetto”
