I Called You a Liar, / But How Right You Were.

The new, unnamed band had practice last night. We ran through Everybody has a Song and Shine On. And then we played Rivers. I hadn't played it in a long time, but it was pretty fun. Brian had edited a recording of it, cutting just over a minute off of it, so it's about 4 minutes long now.

Then we ran through a new song that John has been working on. It's pretty good and I think it has real potential to be awesome. And I am hopeful because it wasn't ultra-poppy... it was pretty rockin'.

My MIDI controller and Kurzweil ME-1 MIDI module came in earlier this week. Some of the instruments sound so believably real. It's amazing. I also started writing some keyboard parts for Merediths songs. We have practice this Friday and I hope to show them something.

Brian loaned me his Korg MicroKORG Synth. It's pretty badass. I stayed up 'til 2:30 last night playing with it... sitting in my bed with my headphones on, putting on my very own dance party. Hahaha. I need to get one of those two-tiered keyboard stands so I can rock out both keyboards.

I'm very hopeful and excited about the Merediths. Joe works on songs all the time and I feel that any ideas I have, he'll take and flesh them out into a whole song. And I'm also excited because I think if I made a CD of Merediths songs for my sister, she would love the songs (or at least some of them). We have a show on January 9th and I hope to be ready by then.
