Eulogy for a Phantasy Star Online Character

Today is a sad day. I feel hurt and betrayed. After spending a significant percentage of my life playing Phantasy Star Online, my character has been digitally slain forever.

It all started this afternoon when I was playing PSO at my parents' house. I'd been playing all weekend and had made a lot of progress (leveling up my character several times, leveling up my MAG many times, and getting several rares). And then out of nowhere I got myself a Double Saber. A Double fucking Saber!!! I showed my dad who was watching on the couch: Hey dad, check this out!!!

That's pretty cool.

Hell yeah, it's cool! It's really rare too!

I was ecstatic. I also had just gotten to the ruins level on Hard and decided I'd better quit and save.

So I quit the game and waited for it to save, when this error occurs saying something along the lines of, I'm sorry, but the game cannot save. Please insert the original memory card to save your game. Well, no matter what I did, I couldn't get it to save. I was really pissed because I'd leveled up two or three times AND I'd gotten a double saber. Oh, well. At least I've still got my character.

Not so, shithead!

I restarted PSO and to my astonishment my character was no longer accessable. I looked at the memory card in the operating system and my PSO game is still there, but PSO won't load it. WTF?!?

I cussed and yelled and jumped up and down but I don't think anything is going to bring my character back. So here's to BillyJocko...

BillyJocko: RAmar

Lvl: 52
MAG Lvl 195

On a positive note, I was looking at the books on the shelves in my sister's old room at my parents house and I saw the name Orson Scott Card. What??? What is this?!? Speaker for the Dead!!?!? And I wonder how many times I've looked over these books and passed this by. I've loved every Orson Scott Card book I've read to date... So I snagged it! Thanks Erjcka!!
