etymology of clint-eastwood-isms

This weekend, I watched one of my dad's favorite movies, The Outlaw Josie Wales. While I'm normally not into those kinds of movies, I learned a lot of important things... namely that the phrases I'll kick you so hard, you'll be wearing your ass for a hat and Don't piss on my back and tell me it's raining are so old that they were said in Civil War times -- because we all know that all Clint Eastwood movies are as historically accurate as possible.

A friend admitted to me his frustration with the jerk kids that deny the Trix Rabbit that sweet, sweet Trix Cereal. And it occurred to me that the Cereal-Denying Jerk Theme is all too common in cereal advertisements.

Lucky the Leprechaun vs. Jerk Kids

The Jerk Kids are always trying to steal Lucky's Lucky Charms. Shit! What's a Leprechaun gotta do these days to protect his lucky charms?

Fred Flintstone vs. Barney Rubble

I think it's about time for Barney to go out and buy himself some Fruity or Cocoa Pebbles. C'mon, doesn't he have a job or something?

Cookie Crook and Chip the Cookie Hound vs Officer Krum

Here are a couple of ne'er-do-wells: Cookie Crook and Chip the Cookie Hound need to stop wasting so much effort on stealing Cookie Crisp and get a job washing dishes or something so that they can get their cookie-cereal fix.
It's all very sad...
