Bruce, Are You Still There?

What is going on?! Mitch Hedburg dies. Then the pope. And Neil Young has surgery for a brain aneurysm. C'mon people... you're all dying on me! Should I call up Bruce Springsteen and see if he's okay?

The Live Lunch was pretty awesome. There was a very weird crowd there: about half were friends of ours and the other half were older people. At least they seemed to enjoy it. The audience was very quiet, I guess because we were on the radio. It was a little weird. Haha. If you're interested, you can listen to it from their archives. I also got my ass grabbed (repeatedly!) by two fans!

We had a show on Saturday with Follow the Train and Venice is Sinking. It was fun, but I wish the turnout had been larger. Oh well. Venice is Sinking will just have to come back another time! They were really awesome and sounded incredible live! And they were all really cool. It was nice to meet Lucas after working with him for the past few months (he's with Team Clermont, our publicity company).

This week, we've got a show tomorrow and one Saturday. And then we've got a show on the 23rd and the 27th. Fucking six shows in one month... That might not seem like a lot, but when you consider that many bands only play once or twice a month, and that we have full-time jobs or school... it's a shit-load! So tomorrow, we get to drive down to WKU and play. Saturday is at Crescent Hill Baptist Church and I'm hoping there are hundreds of kids there! Ten to Midnight played a show there months ago and there were kids literally running everywhere.

I'm very excited about the new songs and about using my new 12-channel Mackie mixer live. I can't wait until I'm totally comfortable with it (I have to think really hard, "What channel is Joe's guitar on?").

My computer at home keeps crashing. I think it's either the cheap RAM that I put in it or my harddrive or harddrive controller. I fucking hate diagnosing this shit. I never thought there would come a day when I'd think to myself, "Fuck computers! Computers suck!" Haha.

But I need it to start working reliably so that I can work on new songs / sequencing / sample libary. People have been responding to our new songs, in particular the interlude that goes into Hello There Moon. Very exciting.

Work is totally insane, and will only get worse.

I got Jonny Greenwood's soundtrack to Bodysong on Friday and it's really amazing (as if Jonny being amazing is news to anyone). I also found some bootlegs of songs by him and Thom that were performed with the Nazareth Orchestra (Arpeggi, Where Bluebirds Fly, and Smear). I can't wait for the next Radiohead album.
